"As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good; I was actually being redirected to something better. You must convince your heart that whatever Allah has decreed is most appropriate and most beneficial to you."
Imam Al Ghazali (via abir-ibrahim)

"For everything there is weighing and measuring except tears. One tear drop can extinguish oceans of fire. If the eyes flood with tears, the face will not suffer hardship and humiliation. When tears flow out, Allah forbids them from the Fire. And if a person weeps on a nation, such a nation will receive favors."

"Give abundantly, even if you are deprived."

"People say I make strange choices, but they’re not strange for me. My sickness is that I’m fascinated by human behavior, by what’s underneath the surface, by the worlds inside people."

I had this phase where I would read amateur books by aspiring writers and take note of the little things that upset me, see if I did them, and if I did, work on eliminating it from my work. I read this one book years ago and I hated it, way too conventional, stretched too thin, not enough vocab, but I guess the character development was good. Apparently, the 17 year old writer’s now been signed by Random House for three novels, the one I read being her first one. I feel like I was friends with a celebrity before they became famous.
There’s a difference between criticizing someone and educating them, recognize it.
"Introverts, in contrast, may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas. They prefer to devote their social energies to close friends, colleagues, and family. They listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation. They tend to dislike conflict. Many have a horror of small talk, but enjoy deep discussions."

Take that guilt you’re feeling and let it flood through your heart and into your soul, lest you make the same mistakes.
my mom found one of my notes to myself and it read, ‘pick up print. it’s important. okay love you. have a beautiful day <3’, and she literally died of laughter. she was all wow is this how you talk to yourself. you iz funny. and then she told me that when she sends herself emails with important files, she opens up with ‘hey pretty lady’ so apparently this flattery thing runs in the family.
